Founded in 1964 by Manuel de Brito, Galeria 111 is one of the most important art galleries in Portugal, having played a key role in the promotion of modern and contemporary art. From its inception, it has stood out for supporting major Portuguese artists such as Paula Rego, Júlio Pomar, and Vieira da Silva, alongside international figures.

Over more than six decades, it has maintained a consistent and diverse exhibition program. In 2020, it moved to a renovated space at Rua Dr. João Soares, 5B, in Lisbon, which includes both an exhibition area and an archive.

Under the direction of Rui Brito, the gallery continues to promote contemporary art through exhibitions, publications, and institutional collaborations, establishing itself as a leading reference in the Portuguese art scene.
