MOVART is an artistic project founded in 2015 by Janire Bilbao in Luanda, with the aim of supporting and promoting young local artists who, despite their creativity and social commitment, lacked resources and infrastructure. It initially operated as an itinerant project until, in 2017, it opened the country’s first commercial gallery.

In 2020, MOVART expanded to Lisbon, creating a cultural bridge between Africa and Europe and strengthening the international profile of its artists.

At present, the gallery maintains its original commitment but has broadened its focus to include a wider diversity of practices and discourses within contemporary art, adapting to new contexts.

In addition, it has created ESTRELA 74, a versatile space dedicated to organising cultural, corporate, and creative events.
