Galerias Municipais/Galeria do Torreão Nascente da Cordoaria
Within the rapidly changing city of Lisbon, the Municipal Galleries recognize their importance as a catalyst for art and contemporary culture. With a particular awareness of our historical and architectural legacy the Municipal Galleries organize exhibitions and related programs at the Pavilhão Branco, Boavista Gallery, Torreão Nascente da Cordoaria Nacional, Quadrum Gallery and Av. da India Gallery. These galleries are located in five different boroughs, from Belém to Cais do Sodré and from Campo Grande to Alvalade. Our goal is to engage a growing audience through a wide range of high-quality exhibitions, public programs and publications that reflect the diversity of contemporary art production and its discourses. With artists at the core of our program, the curatorial work at the Municipal Galleries considers the specific social, cultural, economic, and historical context that characterizes the city of Lisbon and develops programs with local, regional and international partners at our galleries, as part of our residency program and throughout the city.
