MONITOR opened in Rome 18 years ago and since then it has been representing emerging and established international artists, developing a distinct program focused on different mediums. After an experience of two years in New York with a project space, the director Paola Capata decided to open a new gallery in Lisbon in 2017. In September 2019 MONITOR opened a new branch of the gallery in Pereto, a small town in the Abruzzo region, with the intention of taking contemporary art beyond the usual city limits.
