I suggest a walking or biking tour using Lisbon's GIRA or Uber bikes around Marvila and Beato.
Start at Kunsthalle Lissabon, an incredible space led for over 15 years by super-curators João Mourão and Luís Silva. The space has an exciting new curator Ana Laguna. Saodat Ismailova's As We Fade is on view.
Bike 5 minutes (or walk 15) to Galeria Filomena Soares, one of Lisbon's oldest galleries. Rui Chafes — one of Portugal's greatest — known for his sub-dom coded black steel abstracted restraints - shows a forest of tattered steel flags.
One block over: Salto, a great independent space where I discovered one of my favorite artists, Carla Dias @cdiasnaescuridao. Paulo Serra is the incredible artist showing.
Cross the street to Kubik Gallery for Anne Lefebvere's @annehollingshausen beautiful The Clay Hour, curated by dynamic duo Ana Baliza and Alexandre Estrela (FaRO).
End at Galeria Francisco Fino — one of Lisbon's youngest, best galleries — with João Penalva's excellent show.
Old and new galleries, established and emerging artists, all in Lisbon's Beato/Marvila district.
