Start your day by feeding both your appetite and your curiosity with brunch at MOVART, celebrating the opening of its new space in Lisbon, dedicated to artists from the African diaspora. Join a talk with Fidel Évora, whose print-screen technique challenges how images are built — and how stories are told. His approach resonates with the brilliant Brazilian artist Rosângela Rennó, whose exhibition is just a 3-minute walk away at Cristina Guerra Contemporary Art.
Cross the lovely Jardim da Estrela — my favorite garden in Lisbon — and head to Jahn und Jahn. The stunning mansion is currently showcasing works by Swiss artist Heidi Bucher.
Then take a 10-minute stroll (it’s downhill!) to Galeria NAVE in Príncipe Real, known for its sharp eye on emerging artists. Join the conversation with German artist Birte Bosse.
Since it’s Friday, it’s the perfect excuse to take an Uber to Marvila for your evening program. Underdogs Gallery hosts the preview and a guided tour of AkaCorleone’s exhibition, where the Portuguese artist reflects on the lack of control - in both life and art.
One last tip: end at Casa Capitão, a new spot for music and a fun night out. A pretty perfect Lisbon day, if you ask me!
